A showcase of structural solutions shaped by experience, collaboration, and real-world performance.

Projects

Featured Projects

These projects reflect a broad range of structural engineering work across commercial, residential, office, and mission-critical facilities—drawing from prior roles at leading structural engineering firms. The portfolio includes extensive experience in nonlinear time history analysis, performance-based seismic design, design of hospital buildings and HCAI review process and the development of structural basis of design for data center buildings. The work emphasizes seismic resilience and includes innovative structural system solutions that align with architectural intent and project-specific performance goals.

The Grand, Los Angeles

At DCI Engineers, Jinal Doshi provided structural engineering for the lateral system and seismic evaluation of two high-rise towers—a 25-story hotel and a 42-story residential building—on a shared podium. Key tasks included creating linear and nonlinear models in ETABS and PERFORM-3D, completing design calculations for structural elements, contributing to peer review process, and addressing technical comments.

Four 106, Bellevue

At DCI Engineers, Jinal Doshi led structural engineering efforts for the lateral design of a 21-story office tower featuring a central core as the primary seismic force-resisting system (SFRS), supplemented by buckling-restrained braces (BRBs) to address torsional demands. The building’s 3:1 aspect ratio presented unique challenges related to torsional sensitivity, requiring a strategic seismic layout.

1001 John, Seattle

At DCI Engineers, Jinal Doshi worked with the project team for structural design of a 42-story residential tower utilizing a central core as the primary seismic force-resisting system (SFRS). The project featured a 55-foot grade change, which introduced complex design challenges related to lateral and foundation systems.

The Artise, Bellevue

At DCI Engineers, Jinal Doshi provided technical leadership in the evaluation and selection of lateral force-resisting systems (LFRS), presenting pros and cons of various options to support informed decision-making. Successfully implemented a hybrid system combining BRBs with viscous dampers in parallel at common connections.

Watershed, Seattle

Jinal Doshi contributed to the lateral design of Watershed, a seven-story office building in Seattle. As one of three structures participating in Seattle’s Living Building Pilot program, Watershed includes enhanced water efficiency and castellated beams to reduce steel usage.
